Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a powerful ophthalmic imaging modality. Recently OCT structural imaging has been supplemented by two key technologies that provide for additional imaging functionality. In OCT angiography the intrinsic motion contrast provided by blood flow allow visualization of retinal vasculature at capillary-scale detail. I will introduce most recent advances achieved by our group in this area, including our exploration on high-efficient, real-time, wide-field, motion-free OCT angiography, and our experience on overcoming artifacts using artificial intelligence-based algorithms. In OCT oximetry the absorption contrast between oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin is used to measure oxygen saturation within retinal blood vessels. I will discuss our recent work on the development and validation of OCT oximetry measurement using visible-light OCT on rodent models. Yali Jia, PhD is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Biomedical Engineering, Jennie P. Weeks Professor of Ophthalmology, associate director of Center for Ophthalmic Optics & Lasers (www.coollab.net) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and co-founder of International Ocular Circulation Society (www.ocularcirculation.org). Dr. Jia earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from OHSU in 2011 and completed her post-doctoral training with Dr. David Huang at Casey Eye Institute in 2012. Dr. Jia is known for her innovations in optical coherence tomographic angiography (OCTA).
