Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering
Emma Chory is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. She received her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and her doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, studying chromatin biology and epigenetic regulation, and her postdoctoral fellowship at MIT with Professors Kevin Esvelt and Jim Collins, developing novel synthetic biology platforms to evolve biomolecules with robotics. Her team at Duke leverages directed evolution, high-throughput robotics, and chromatin biology to engineer novel precision biologics and build mechanistic models that will better inform our ability to understand and tackle human disease.
